And now that the word has gotten out, and the demand has grown for these lovely pens, that are hand-crafted in the beautiful California foothill community of Sierra Madre, we formed a company and decided to offer our wares online.
Every pen is hand crafted from start to finish in our workshop. From choosing the finest wood available to drilling, turning and shaping, finishing, and assembling. We test every pen for balance, comfort, and smoothness of mechanism. If we won't use it and love it ourselves, we will not sell it, or even give it away. (But less than perfect pens do make great mobiles for our twins' nursery!)
We do not use duplicators or any instruments to make exact copies of any pen, so each one is a work of art in itself. Although we do have pens in stock, we usually make them to order. So it may take up to a week to ship.
Every pen comes with a 30 day satisfaction guarantee. If you don't like it, simply return it in the same condition it was sent, and we will give you a full refund. We hope you will love and enjoy your pen as much as we have enjoyed making it for you.

My wife, Leslie, and I have our son, Jack, to thank for the creation of Sierra Madre Pens. For his eighth birthday, he wanted a Harry Potter themed party. Being the type of family who likes to plan and throw events ourselves, it became our mission to transform our humble home into Hogwart's School of Wizardry. Well, what Harry Potter party would be complete without wands? So I bought a lathe and hand "turned" fifty wands for all the kids (and their siblings)!
After the party, I had this beautiful piece of machinery sitting in my workshop and wondered what else I could use it for. Then I heard about turning pens. One pen, and I was hooked! I made pens for friends. I made pens for relatives. For Christmas, for Hanukkah, for Birthdays. If it was a sunny day, I gave away a pen to celebrate.
It seemed that whenever anyone used a pen I gave them, someone would see it and want to buy one. In other cases, people would know someone else who owned a gift store or pharmacy or specialty shop, and they would buy dozens at a time.
